Peritoneal mesothelioma treatment and information - a different way

Peritoneal Mesothelioma occurs in the peritoneum is a rare form of malignant tumors affecting smaller numbers of people as pleural mesothelioma. The peritoneum consists of two parts, as visceral peritoneum, the inner organs and the parietal peritoneum of the abdominal cavity extends from cover. The cells in these two separate layers of fluid that helps in the movement of the organs in the abdomen. However, if the malignant cells are overproducedwhereby excess fluid in the abdomen. It is generally assumed that risk factor associated with asbestos mesothelioma is peritoneal dialysis. Asbestos particles to get a foothold in the body either by ingestion or inhalation and reached the peritoneum by the lymphatic system caused by malignancy of the cellular lining of the abdomen.

The early symptoms of peritoneal mesothelioma include:

* Increased weight loss due to the low food intake

* Night sweats oftenaccompanied by fever

* Increased abdominal girth with attacks of abdominal pain and indigestion coupled

* Extreme fatigue, fever and anemia status

Testing and diagnosis:

Based on symptoms, doctors can not determine the presence of peritoneal mesothelioma can, but for medical examinations of X-rays to CT scans to MRI. These imaging studies and studies to help in the detection of the disease and also helps with knowledge of the stage and metastases of theCancer.

But it is the biopsy that confirmed the disease ultimately either a liquid aspiration biopsy or a tissue sample. If the cancer is detected early, it helps heal faster because of the diffuse peritoneal mesothelioma cancer advances to the cancer cells invade other body parts too.

Treatment methods:

The disease is very difficult to diagnose in its early stages. One approach is intraperitoneal chemotherapy. This method of treatment, after surgery, drugs are directly induced in the stomach. In some cases, radiation therapy performed to shrink the tumors is performed before the operation.

But the cytoreductive surgery called debulking is what happened. Although surgery is considered the first line of treatment it is not performed for all patients. If the patient's physical health has failed, surgery is nerve-racking. In these cases it is the palliative approach works best. This therapy works, too simpleSymptoms and improve quality of life decrease for patients with chemotherapy drugs.

High-energy radiation is also used to treat peritoneal mesothelioma, but is not used alone. Radiation therapy is usually followed by surgery and the use of palliative

Chemotherapeutic agents.

Latest developments:

There are ongoing clinical studies and experiments such as immunotherapy, gene therapy and use of anti-angiogenesis drugs for the treatment of cancer. Multi-modalityApproach often proved in some cases and intracavitary chemotherapy and radiation therapy are useful subject for further research and testing.

Mesothelioma Cancer - Different Types

Tumors originating in the mesothelium (a protective membrane that most of the internal organs of the body, such as pulmonary, cardiovascular and gastrointestinal concerns) may be benign or malignant. Benign tumors cause no harm and is not injured or only little damage to the individual, since they are not cancer. On the other hand, a malignant tumor of the mesothelium that contains cancer cells are called malignant mesothelioma. Unfortunately, tumors of the mesothelium are usually cancer, and thus malignant mesothelioma is usually only as "mesothelioma". There are basically three types of mesothelioma:

Pleural Mesothelioma
• Peritonial Mesothelioma
Pericardial mesothelioma.

Pleural mesothelioma often develops in the chest. It is a cancer of the lining of the lungs. This food is as the pleura, whose job it is to produce, to a lubricating fluid so that the lungto move smoothly as the individual breaths. This form of mesothelioma has a high degree of probability to metastasize (spread) to other organs of the body. Unfortunately, it is usually not more than not. Is the most common malignant pleural mesothelioma with an incidence of approximately 75% of all malignant mesothelioma. Sometimes incorrectly diagnosed as lung cancer, mesothelioma. It is different fromLung cancer because they do not originate in the lung, such as lung cancer, but it has its origin in the lining of the lungs.

Peritoneal mesothelioma originates in the stomach, where it affects the peritoneum. The peritoneum has the task of producing a lubricating fluid to enable the stomach to move freely. This type of mesotholioma spreads generally to other parts of the body such as the liver or intestine. Peritoneal mesothelioma is less common than pleural mesotholioma amounting to about 10% to 20% of all malignant mesothelioma. However, it is more aggressive.

Pericardial mesothelioma is from the lining surrounding the heart. This food is as the pericardium, whose job it is, a lubricating fluid that protects the heart is produced allowing the heart to move freely. This type of cancer is the less common malignant mesothelioma, accounting for 5% to 15% of all species. This type of> Mesothelioma is very aggressive.
