Pleural disease and mesothelioma

Often, the risk is damage from exposure to asbestos, the lining of the lungs called the pleura. Calcium deposits in the scars caused by asbestos fibers pass through "calcification", causing it to harden.

Fluid effusion may be accumulated around the lungs. This condition does not constitute direct loss and will dissolve and then later returned. This repeated fluid accumulation gradually cause "diffuse pleural thickening," which is the thickening of theentire pleura. This process can be a thickening at the end, such as scars and even make it difficult for the lungs to expand.

Malignant Mesothelioma Lung Cancer

Mesothelioma is a rare type of cancer, chest or abdominal relates (peritonuem), and it is caused only by asbestos. There are two types of mesothelioma cells - epithelial and sarcomatoid.

Even a relatively short exposure to asbestos () one or two months, may appear to be atMesothelioma cancer or even lung cancer 20, 30, 50 or even 70 years later.

How to significantly increase the most disease, early detection and treatment recovery chance. Unfortunately, mesothelioma, lung cancer is often asymptomatic and treatment is often too late if a patient is diagnosed. Many will die from the disease in the following 12 months after diagnosis, and most will not survive more than 18 months.

Therefore, some treatments for mesothelioma goal isto alleviate the symptoms instead of curing the disease. If your doctor palliative (comfort recommends) treatments, he / she can be seen therefore that your illness can be healed. In this scenario, will seek a second opinion and consider what they can offer alternative treatment.

Pleural mesothelioma - The Truth and Facts about Pleural Meseothelioma

Pleural Mesothelioma represents for about 75% of all cases and mesothelioma. The main reason for this type of cancer is the inhalation of asbestos fibers in the lung, the linings of the pleura is embedded as an unknown. These embedded fibers is inflammation, which will eventually lead to cancer, cause tumors, if not dealt with at the beginning of the stage.

Even if the Cancel tumors are not detected early, it can from the lung pleura to other vital organs, theare the heart and stomach. Mesothelioma can also invade the lymph nodes and effects on the body's blood system.

The main cause for this type of cancer is exposure to asbestos. If a person is exposed to asbestos for a few months, can the deadly asbestos and fine particles lead to mesothelioma 30 to 50 years later. The older generation, especially men in their sixties and seventies, are most at risk, because it was the generation thatworked with the deadly material with minimal protection. Because it takes so long for this type of cancer to the surface, these men are only now discovering that they have this deadly cancer. Many are now brought against the company, responsible for exposing them to asbestos.

Symptoms that are associated with pleural mesothelioma, pain in the chest. But the pain is not directly from the lung, pleura, however, are often seen in the shoulder or upper abdomen.Persistent coughing, shortness of breath, facial swelling, weight loss, fever and coughing up blood, the other symptoms of this type of cancer. The tumor of this type of cancer grows rapidly and increases the pleural space, so that this space will be filled with liquid. This is the liquid that the discomfort or pain with the early symptoms of this cancer. Many of these symptoms are similar to illnesses that are more often than this type of cancer and therefore it is verydifficult to diagnose until it's too late.

It is not appropriate cure for pleural mesothelioma and treatment options are limited. Active research is being conducted around the globe and many pharmaceutical companies are testing new drugs to fight this cancer. Currently available treatments for this cancer include chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgery.

According to a study in 167 patients with proven pleural mesothelioma who didmedian survival of patients after diagnosis was 242 days. The survival rate was also down by type of cancer, age, affecting medical history, and lifestyle. Through this research, patients with biphasic cell types had the shortest life expectancy. The chances of survival are dramatically increased if this cancer is treated at an early stage, because if it has evolved and spread, it is very difficult to heal.

Mesothelioma is a form of cancer.

The mesothelium is a membrane that forms the lining of several body cavities: the hard sac, abdominal cavity and thoracic cavity. Internal sex organs of male and female bodies are surrounded by mesothelium tissues.

Mesothelium is composed of two layers of cells and develops into a layer of cells that covers and protects most of the internal organs of the body.

Is cancer in the mesotheliumcalled mesothelioma. The cells of the mesothelium are abnormal and divide without control or order. They can penetrate or damage to other surrounding tissues and organs. The cancer cells can spread to other parts of the body.

Mesothelioma is almost always caused by exposure to asbestos, and, unlike lung cancer, there is no association between mesothelioma and smoking causes. Most people with this disease have a job where they worked with asbestos dust and fibers, or hadthey have been exposed in other ways, such as washing the coth a family member, with asbestos or renovating a house, worked with asbestos-cement products.

about 3,000 people per year are reported to have mesothelioma. And the rate of infected people is increasing every year. Mesothelioma can take several years to develop in a person exposed to asbestos have been to. For some people it may take up to 50 years before cancerdiscovered.

Causes and Treatment of Mesothelioma

Mesothelioma is a form of lung cancer, caused primarily by exposure to asbestos fibers. In fact, mesothelioma is a cancer of the mesothelium, the sheath that important organs like the lungs (pleurum), heart (pericardium) and the abdominal cavity (peritoneum). Pleural covering, is by far the most common Article

Mesothelioma and Asbestos

When asbestos fibers are inhaled, they become embedded in the lining of the lungs. Duetheir small needle-like size, are not the normal defense mechanisms of the body is able to recognize them. As a rule, no foreign matter such as this are either coughed or be removed by an accumulation of mucus around them. But asbestos. They cause inflammation of the lungs and tissue damage, scarring and coughing. These are the first symptoms of asbestosis, although asbestosis is not mesothelioma.

No one knows exactly why cancers develop, but once the cancer cellsformed in the pleura, it gradually becomes thicker, and is limited in time and causes shortness of breath and coughing. What is known as "pleural effusion" comes known as the fluid of the pleura, designed to lubricate the movement of the lungs to other organs of the nearby building and exerts pressure on the lungs. The thickening of the pleura continues as an increasing number of cells, the development of cancer, until death eventually occurs.

The effect of smoking

AlthoughSmoking is known that a number of cancers result, they do not promote themselves mesothelioma. But this is a patient exposed to asbestos and also smokes, will have influence on the disease as a non-smoker will contract. This is why smokers are, in general, lower amounts of compensation than non-smokers with the same disease. However, it would be wrong to say that smoking is a cause of mesothelioma.

However, it is the cause of many other lung Increase as mesothelioma cancer caused by asbestos and smoking and asbestos together also the risk of lung cancer patients to develop a general, as caused by prolonged exposure to asbestos more than just mesothelioma. Asbestos lung cancer and mesothelioma are not the same.

Symptoms

The main symptoms are shortness of breath, weight loss, nausea and pain. This applies to all forms of mesothelioma, not only true pleura> Mesothelioma. In the case of peritoneal mesothelioma, the abdomen very painful and swollen, as well as the pleural version causes tightening and swelling in the chest with pleural effusion. The pressure created can also cause pain, except that the cancer itself.

Diagnosis

If the disease is not diagnosed early, then survival is unlikely. Therefore, any person who has previously worked in the asbestos industry or asbestos used intheir work, their doctor should be aware of this fact. You can then develop a timetable for periodic examinations to detect the first signs of the disease to be placed. If the condition is recognized early enough, most treatments can be used effectively, and surgery is much more likely to be effective if the affected area is in a position to be isolated.

If you have contracted the disease, Stopping smoking is essential, and you must try to avoid all infections of the lungs andAirways. It is possible to treat the condition have been diagnosed too late, however, where treatment tends to palliative and aimed at the patient as comfortable as possible.

It is therefore imperative that people take a history of contact with asbestos, which ensure contact their doctor immediately in order that, if the symptoms are, it can be done discovered before any permanent damage. Only then can one hope for a cure and successful recovery from this insidiousDisease.

Types and stages of pleural mesothelioma

Mesothelioma is a cancer of the mesothelial cells that make up the pleura or lining around the outside of the lungs and the inside of the ribs. It can also involve the heart and stomach. Pleural mesothelioma caused by exposure to asbestos fibers, including chrysotile, amosite, crocidolite, or that is twenty or more years before the disease significantly. These fibers are in the body through inhalation or ingestion Swallowing. Pleural mesothelioma is the most common type of mesothelioma, accounting for some 75% of all cases.

Types of plural mesothelioma

"Localized and benign" Mesothelioma is not life threatening and can be removed by surgery.

"Reflection and malicious" Mesothelioma is a cancer, which generally leads to death within one year after diagnosis.

The symptoms of pleural> Mesothelioma

Chest wall pain, pleural effusion, or fluid surrounding the lungs, shortness of breath, weight loss, fatigue or anemia, difficulty breathing, hoarseness, cough and blood (in the sputum fluid) coughed. Patients may develop different variants of tumor masses. Patients to pneumothorax, or collapse of the lung. The disease may metastasize, or spread, to other parts of the body.

Stages of pleural mesothelioma

There are fourStages of this disease. Localized pleural mesothelioma of cancer - Stage I, the cancer remains on the membrane surface where it originated at the third stage IV, advanced. In this last phase, the cancer (metastases) spread beyond the original membrane surface to other parts of the body, such as the lymph nodes, lungs, chest wall, or abdominal organs.

Screening and diagnosis

Doctors first report of medical history, including anyExposure to asbestos. The doctor can perform a complete physical examination. Doctors should then radiographs of the chest or abdomen and lung function tests ok. These tests include various imaging procedures such as CT (or CAT) scan or an MRI.

A biopsy is needed to confirm a diagnosis of mesothelioma cancer. Doctors perform a thoracoscopy in patients with symptoms of pleural mesothelioma. This procedure involves a small incision through the chest wall, thenInsert a thin, lighted tube is called thoracoscope into the chest between two ribs. Doctors pull out without access fluid in the lungs by a procedure called thoracentesis. You can then obtain tissue samples for analysis. Other types of tube insertions are bronchoscopy or mediastinoscopy

Treatment Options

Here are some of the most frequently used applications are at this time.

Surgical removal of the entire lung and a portion of the breastFood, the diaphragm and a portion of the sac around the heart.

Radiation therapy is the sides of the chest drain used to prevent the growth of the tumor along the track in the chest wall. Although not particularly successful, the radiation preformed to relieve the symptoms of growth of tumors, such as obstruction of major blood vessels too.

Chemotherapy is used to stop the cancer cells grow and divide.

It is important toThey note that date no successful treatments for mesothelioma to. Most patients have a median survival 6 to 12 months after presentation of symptoms.

Mesothelioma: Causes, Symptoms, litigation and prevention

What is Mesothelioma? Mesothelioma is a rare type of cancer that grows on the mesothelium, the membrane or hard sack that surrounds the various organs of the body. It protects the organs, the production of a preferred type of liquid, promote the mobility of the organs. In the case of lung mesothelium fluid allows ease of movement when the intake of air. Mesothelioma cancer can start on any area of the mesothelium which can be benign or cancer. Known as the causeMesothelioma is exposure to asbestos.

Asbestos is a heat resistant fibrous mineral was in the industry as the main material to make the roof, sealing compounds, floor tiles and patching compounds. His versatility makes him an integral part of the various products on the market, but it is very dangerous when inhaled, no matter how small the quantity may. Inhaled asbestos fiber can pass through the airways, which may come in contact with linings of the lung, may violate theCells and result pleural mesothelioma. Swallowed asbestos on hand can still lined the fibers greater effect on the abdominal peritoneal mesothelioma had resulted. There is also evidence that link Mesothelioma with Thorotrast, a component of X-rays but its usage is for a long time stopped.

The signs and symptoms of mesothelioma can be incredibly common, that is why the patient can just take it granted. TheSymptoms may be discovered until three months before Mesothelioma is. Occur pleural mesothelioma, which normally recognize occurring kind, takes in almost two thirds of all mesothelioma cases. The coverings called in the lungs and chest pleura are the affected regions of pleural mesothelioma. Common symptoms include weight loss, but not with the dietary shift, extreme tiredness, difficulty in taking, rough or hoarse voiceconstant shortness of breath, cough that have lasted for a long time, pain the chest or back, extreme sweating and recurring fever. For peritoneal mesothelioma, are usually concerned organs of the body, intestine, liver and spleen with signs that are similar to intestinal diseases. Early symptoms include introduction to the abdominal area, recurring constipation or diarrhea, increase in the waist area, infection, vomiting, fever and even anemia. Who these symptoms, the encounters were exposed to asbestos to consult a better continuity of the doctor for diagnosis in order to stop further Mesothelioma complicated problems.

Prevention of Mesothelioma can be best achieved by avoiding contact with asbestos, which demonstrated to have been done primarily professional. Asbestos has been able to observe almost everywhere it at home, at work or in public buildings. Workers, they must be considered with caution and take precautions to avoid contact through inhalation or drinking. Low> Mesothelioma cases are discovered in the last 20 years, but today, the number of people affected is growing to a large extent. Be observed in the United States almost 2,000 new cases per year. It usually occurs with men, as it is usually those who find the company and in cases of asbestos use. Factory workers, miners, workers, railway, gas mask makers, insulation workers and ship builders are the victims of asbestos in general.

Patientsor the individuals affected with Mesothelioma can file lawsuits against asbestos makers, manufacturers and employers since they have the duty to protect their workers from the negative effects of asbestos including Mesothelioma. Many law firms and lawyers are today available to help the sufferers fight for their right and to attain the justice that they deserve.

Remission of mesothelioma is possible?

Mesothelioma, even after decades of medical research, is one of the most aggressive and least treatable of all forms of cancer.

Still going, a very small percentage of patients in remission from mesothelioma, and I can (two cases, an anecdotal report, but I've seen the film itself), and the other from the medical literature.

Dr. Demetrio Sodi-Pallares, who lived that of 1913 to 2003, was in his time as a leading electrocardiologist in the world. AProfessor at UCLA, Michigan, and Baylor medical schools, he was the author of twelve books and over 300 articles in medical journals.

In the 1960s, Dr. Sodi, as he prefers to be called, was at the Department of Medicine at Baylor College with the pioneer of bypass surgery, Dr. Michael DeBakey. Competitive with DeBakey, Sodi deal perfected an alternative procedure, a bypass to "requires no surgery and minimal medication.

During a bypass operation is something that everyone knows all aboutthe world, Dr. Sodi's glucose-insulin-potassium (GIK) infusion as valid only from the American Heart Association recognized 53 years procedure, after it is developed, even though it uses in 11 countries today. Dr. Sodi, of course, was invited to his home in Mexico City back in the age of 65. Dr. DeBakey is still on the property and 100 on 7 September again 2008th

Back in Mexico, Dr. Sodi (to the dismay of his wife) built a medical unit of the pool and flower gardensand opened its doors to the hopeless patients who had no money. One of his patients had mesothelioma.

Dr. Sodi had more or less by accident that successful treatment of heart disease often brings a remission of cancer studied. Came in the 1980s, a construction worker with mesothelioma who was not exempt from the treatment is always at the public hospital, after ordering labs and x-ray, Dr. Sodi put him on a three-step program:

Avoid all added salt and foodobtained with salt.

Eat 10 portions of fruit and vegetables a day.

And take a nap for 3 hours 5 days per week,

The nap occurring on a pulsed magnetic field mattress of the kind regularly today for back pain treatment.

This is not the kind of regimes that goes to medical school to provide you the ability to get after you reach age 65 years. It was just so simple. Dr. Sodi fee? Zero.

I was a guest of the house of Dr. Sodi is about 15 years later. Heshowed me the films of the shrinking and then disappearing pleural effusion, and then introduced me to these and many other patients. What is striking, was this man, except that he was in the polluted environment feature of Mexico City, that he had unusually rosy skin. This can not, or have nothing to do with forgiveness, but it was memorable.

So, what can I expect someone to take this away from my reading of history?

Well, it is not the only storyAdoption out there. Others are scientifically documented.

While I had great confidence in the integrity of Dr. Sodi, and still not conducted a case study in a free clinic on a deserted swimming pool in the front yard of a doctor is not really built to be on the scientific evidence.

But it is with some statement about the prevention of mesothelioma I have written about this in a later post in line. If 10 servings of fruit and vegetables a day is good, by the way, do notmy 20 would be better. Apparently there is an upper limit to the usefulness of nutrition in the prevention and possibly help mesothelioma, as I will discuss in a later post.

If all this is evidence of a response could be found, I would not post. But the fact that a carefully documented the adoption of mesothelioma has been documented in the medical literature.

Dr Roger KA Allen of Wesley Medical Center in Brisbane, Australia, documented the case of a 61-year-oldWomen with mesothelioma, which went into remission within months, and has for years remained in remission. (You can find the complete text of the publication, "Apparent Complete Spontaneous Regression one Multifocal Malignant mesothelioma of the pleura, here.)

Dr. Allen notes that he has treated over 600 mesothelioma patients and that several passes of the biopsy to ensure that the woman had (1) mesothelioma and (2) it went into remission without Treatment at all.

By no treatment, wrote Dr. Allen, that there is no alternative medicine, and no change in diet, and no prayer - but it seems unlikely that he really could account for these variables. The Australian patients were in remission for five years, was when the paper was published in 2007.

Have had and there are also people, mesothelioma, unable to remain in remission, but who have lived a very long time. The Royal Brompton Hospital in London reported a> Mesothelioma patients were in remission for six years, it has been cut to a single tumor, and then lived for another six years, a total of twelve, and was still alive at the time of publication of the Green Paper. You (an excerpt from this report can be read here.)

Mesothelioma is a serious diagnosis, but it is not entirely hopeless. Do not count yourself out.

Mesothelioma cancer increases with the industrialization

There are so many types of cancer. One of the main types of cancer is mesothelioma. It is always caused by the exposures of asbestos. This is the cancer that was never popular in the world some years ago, but due to industrialization and also because of the mal-work situations, the problem is doubled, this type of cancer. This mesothelioma cancer, malignant cells develop in the mesothelium, that the entire development of the internal organs interferes with the bodyFunctioning.

The main parts that most of the diseases are occurrences in the body, the pleura, peritoneum and the pericardium, or even the tunica vaginalis. These are the key places in the spread of diseases. The diseases are in most cases it is the people who live in those places, the very large number of exhaust gases from asbestos particles trapped. Dust and fibers are the most important elements that are responsible for this exposure to asbestos. The fiber is the element that cannever be discarded, and also that the overall environmental pollution, when trying to have it, can do with burning.

Another place that is a risk that this disease is caught, the washing of clothes. If there are a variety of cloths washing the whole house of people, there are chances of dust inhaled into the respiratory and other inhalation of dust is the main cause of mesothelioma. Smoking is the main cause of these diseases, but still the smokeTobacco, many of these inhalation of asbestos and asbestos is an invitation to this disease.

The symptoms of mesothelioma are simple and clear. Shortness of breath is one of the reasons, very revealing. This shortness is caused by pleural effusion. Another symptom is chest pain. Even weight loss is one of the reasons that indicate disease. So, in each case, the symptoms she felt to be sorted out immediately and get deleted.

Thus, mesotheliomaCancer is the disease, the major causes make sense and the disease should be avoided.

All Pericardial Mesothelioma Information FAQ

What is pericardial mesothelioma?

Pericardial mesothelioma is a serious heart condition, the structure consists of cancer cells on the lining of the heart. Similarly to pleural and peritoneal mesothelioma, this is an incurable disease on the importance of the area in which it grows.

What are the causes of pericardial mesothelioma, and who are most at risk?

The primary cause of pericardial mesothelioma is exposureAsbestos dust and fibers. Therefore, those who are vulnerable, the most likely to have inhaled the deadly fibers such as construction workers and asbestos manufacturers. Who in contact with these people got a chance, pericardial mesothelioma, because these people may have asbestos fibers stuck to their clothes or hair.

What are the symptoms of pericardial mesothelioma?

The symptoms of pericardial mesothelioma change fromPatient to patient. Common symptoms include persistent cough, coughing up blood, shortness of breath, chest pain and palpitations. Others may experience symptoms of the patients are nausea, weight loss, vomiting and anorexia.

What are the treatments available pericardial mesothelioma?

There are several treatment options for pericardial mesothelioma, although none of them have a high success rate. Chemotherapy, radiation therapy, dual therapy andSurgery are the treatment methods available. Includes chemotherapy drugs to kill cancer cells and radiation therapy uses doses of radiation to kill cancer cells, although this is the case of pericardial mesothelioma because of the difficulties surrounding vital organs like heart and lungs. Dual therapy is a treatment combining radiotherapy with chemotherapy. Surgery comes in two types, aggressive surgery and palliative procedures. Aggressive surgery is a verydifficult and is made up largely escape of cancer cells in an attempt to gain long term control of cancer. Palliative procedures attempt to reduce only the symptoms of the patient.

How much exposure to asbestos is required for it to be a possibility of pericardial mesothelioma?

That depends on which way round it strong and resistant to the person for her disease and the concentration of asbestos fibers into the environment around him. It is possiblePericardial Mesothelioma already received from a few months of exposure to asbestos, although on average a few years to take sufficient asbestos fibers to build up to cause cancer.

What is the prognosis for pericardial mesothelioma?

This is highly dependent on how we will treat early and how aggressively the cancer. When pericardial mesothelioma treated when fully developed, and then due, the survival of a patientis very small. The forecast was only a few months.

Is there any promising research into cures for pericardial mesothelioma?

Research into cures pericardial mesothelioma and all other forms of mesothelioma is being done in many research laboratories throughout the United States. Many pharmaceutical companies are also working hard on new drugs for chemotherapy research. So far the research has been mostly unsuccessful.

High incidence of malignant pleural mesothelioma in Australia

Australia has the highest per capita rate of mesothelioma cases. The worst, experts say, is yet to come, the majority of mesothelioma cases in Australia are of the type malignant pleural mesothelioma. The majority of cases have taken the disease from exposure to asbestos under contract. When asbestos fibers or asbestos dust is inhaled through the nose and moves down through the respiratory system. Then settles in the lungs. The lungs have a feed like this the mesothelium lining. If this food comes into contact with asbestos fibers, it starts behaving in a funny way.

It starts fast and Division, it also starts with a long life. This leads to tumors in the lungs and this condition is known as pleural mesothelioma. This may cause cancer) (malignant pleural mesothelioma or non-cancer (benign pleural mesothelioma). Australia has a very high number of malignant pleural mesothelioma> Mesothelioma cases. This is a very terrible state and has no cure. Because the symptoms of this disease, including fever, cough, chest pain, etc. are often confused for other illnesses such as pneumonia, it is quite difficult to correctly diagnose this disease.

It is usually diagnosed only in the last stages of cancer. The patient lived almost a year after the diagnosis. Also, the latency period is very long from this disease. Latency is the time between exposure toAsbestos and the occurrence of this disease. Bound, given the long latency period of about 20 to 30 years, many times this disease is not spoken as asbestos. Australia has affected approximately 16 cases per million population of adults with mesothelioma every year. In addition, the number of mesothelioma cases among men is significantly higher than in women. Some 600 cases of mesothelioma are recorded each year in Australia. It is expected that within the next 10-15 years, some 13,000 be recorded more mesothelioma cases.

It is a high-risk group in Australia. The following people in Australia seem to be more mesothelioma compared to rest of the population:

• City residents

• building owners and building workers

• The workers of shipbuilding and shipyard

• Railway

• Asbestos Workers

• power plant employees.

Although Australia has such a high frequency of> Mesothelioma-related deaths in Australia is the pioneer in many companies in the medical research into mesothelioma. It has a new method of treatment that promises to reduce mortality to be found. Since there is no cure for this disease, it is better if detected early. The usual methods of treatment such as chemotherapy and surgery did not work in the last stages of cancer, so it is better if the disease is detected early as possible. The Australian researchers have invented anew screening test that you can enter in the detection of malignant pleural mesothelioma. This can be used in high-risk group to identify early evidence of malignant pleural mesothelioma. The earlier the disease is diagnosed, the better the survival chances of the patient. The Australian researchers who are more and more research is in the medical area of mesothelioma. Australia is a true pioneer in the research mesothelioma. Is aLeader and role model for all other countries. Although Australia has so much to advance mesothelioma research, nor the future of Australia is done so bleak.

It is expected that the number of mesothelioma deaths in Australia will continue to soar until 2020. Thereafter it is expected that mesothelioma deaths continue to stop before it is finally back. This is mainly due to the long latency period of mesothelioma. So, even after allTypes of asbestos completely banned, the effects of exposure to asbestos can be felt only later about 20 to 30 years. The only advantage of all the research is that the chances of survival for mesothelioma patients have increased.

Even the life of the patient after the detection of the disease increased. Previously, the patient had little to live for a year. But now, through early diagnosis, has increased substantially. Australia should commit to continuemore research on mesothelioma for the global good. You should try to make the medical science advance to new innovations in the treatment of mesothelioma. All other countries actively support and help Australia's efforts. Australia should also make available the fruits of their efforts for the whole wide world.

What treatments are available for victims of mesothelioma?

Mesothelioma is touted as deadly because most of the cases
are diagnosed when in advanced stage and doctors have little
To offer consolation by then. Still doctors try to do their best
Patients with severe pain relieve Mesothelioma
Using cutting-edge treatments.

Surgery

Before considering surgery as one of the proposals for
Treatment of malignant cancer, the health of patients
must be carefully examined. The tests arecarried out to
to examine whether the cancer to other parts of spreading
Body or not. The evaluation of the patient's lung and heart
Functions is made. In the former, a mesothelioma
Operation can not be performed. Both the heart and lungs have
are properly functioning state is scheduled for surgery.

The operation is in two types: aggressive surgery (long-term
Control) and palliative procedures (relief of symptoms).
If we define each of themseparated.

Aggressive surgery

Aggressive surgery involves removal of the lung, pleura,
of the diaphragm and the pericardium through a process that
known as extra pleural pneumonectomy. The intention
follow this method is to remove as much of that to
Tumor as possible. It is indeed a bold method
Elimination of the disease, hence the name "Aggressive
surgery ".

This operation is very complicated and requireshigh
Risk. This is due to the fact that it is possible
Chances of death by the same within a month. Extra
Pleural pneumonectomy is therefore normally carried out on
younger patients who are in good health and in a
Position to tolerate the surgery.

Palliative procedures

Palliative procedures are usually performed when the cancer
is in its expanded form. These procedures are carried out to
Controlling the symptoms of mesotheliomarather than curing them.
Pleurectomy (also decortication) is the process
to surgically remove the pleura. This method reduces the pain
caused by the cancerous mass and may also prevent the
Recurrence of pleural effusion (fluid collection which
causes great difficulty in breathing). For Patients
of peritoneal mesothelioma, complete surgical removal of the
the entire tumor is not entirely possible. In this case,
Operation is to gloss over theSymptoms such as ascites,

Chemotherapy

Chemotherapy is a method used in the drug for the treatment of
Mesothelioma. It was observed that this method
partially successful. This is because the patient recovers
partly related to the use of drugs or combination of drugs (In fact,
increases the effectiveness of this method, if combined
Drugs are used at the same time.) Some of these combinations
have proven themselves and to develop new drugs, for
the treatment of this cancer.

Radiotherapy

In this method, the tumor is killed with doses of radiation.
However, with the help of this procedure, the killing of the tumor
Cells is quite difficult. The reason is the fact that
It is difficult to find in particular the malignant cells.
The heart, lungs and other organs may surround --
same, and they are at the risk of damage possible by the
Radiation dose. However, low doses maybe
used to reduce the disease to some degree.

Dual therapy

Both chemotherapy and radiotherapy are used in conjunction
after the performance of the operation. Both take into
Kill any remaining tumor cells destroy that were not removed from
Surgery and may also help in alleviating the
Disease such as chest pain.

The treatment methods that are described above, are direct
Ways to treat a person suffering from mesothelioma.
HoweverDoctors and researchers are always on the lookout
for new ways to treat mesothelioma. The need for
Development of alternative methods for treatment of patients with
from mesothelioma arises because of the complex nature of the
different types of cancer, and because the patients are
differently to different types of medical care.
Some of them are as follows:

Immunoagumentive therapy (IAT)

The goal of IAT is to strengthen the body's ownImmune System
System. The same is done by balancing four different
Proteins in the blood.

Intraoperative Photodynamic Therapy (IPT)

This type of treatment is used to cure early stage
Mesothelioma in the chest. IPT uses special drugs and
Light to kill cancer cells during surgery. A drug that makes
Tumor cells more sensitive to light is injected into a vein
several days before surgery. During surgery, a special light
is used to find thoseCancer.

Gene Therapy

This is a unique method by which researchers are trying to either
to improve the body's natural ability to fight against the
Diseases, or alternatively, the cancer cells more
sensitive to other forms of therapy.

Mesothelioma Treatment and Information

Getting reliable information about the diagnosis of mesothelioma is very important for patients and their love ones. Mesothelioma is an asbestos-related cancers of the lung, or known as the pleura, which may lead a patient to breath, because they have been exposed to asbestos. Each case is different, and sometimes a patient showing no symptoms at all. Mesothelioma consists of several forms. Pleural mesothelioma is one of theFound forms and found cancer cells in the lining of the abdominal cavity or the lining around the heart. This form of cancer can be painful, because they spread throughout the body and can lead to close the institutions. Workers exposed to asbestos were not all contracting mesothelioma cancer. This cancer could be caused by exposure to asbestos and not all asbestos is harmful. Asbestos can already be fixed in the wall, without theParticles released into the air, lead workers.

If it is are free particles in the air, the workers exposed to asbestos and that is harmful to workers and may cause the worker to contract mesothelioma. A second form of cancer, peritoneal mesothelioma, a rare form of cancer that lining of the stomach is affected. This cancer is also associated with asbestos exposure-related and occurs in the tissue lining of the abdominal cavity, theThe liquid contains, that the organs can move and work properly. Peritoneal mesothelioma is the most common form of cancer linked to asbestos exposure is because it is the place where the cancer spreads. This cancer may cause severe health problems and complications for the patient. Typically, a patient is flu-like symptoms and swelling of the abdomen. Pericardial mesothelioma is caused by asbestos, another form of cancer that is too rarely to the detriment of the liningaround the heart. Pericardium are the cells that lubricating fluids to the heart so that the heart protection to move freely when creating the pumping of blood in other parts of the body. This can result in a patient with cancer spread through the tissue in the lining of the heart have. In this phase can not be effective treatments, and can lead to serious circumstances.

It may be a patient for a long time after they are exposed to asbestos before he or she recognizes symptoms such as chestPain, difficulty breathing and a persistent cough. When the diagnosis is the first step, and although it will be extremely difficult to detect mesothelioma symptoms, because they are similar to so many other types of cancer are, your doctor will perform a physical exam and ask about your exposure to asbestos. Several studies are conducted to determine, including the chest X-rays, MRI or CT scans to any abnormal changes. A tissue sample can be obtained to confirm the diagnosis, and if yourPhysician has determined that you are a patient of mesothelioma next step is treatment. Therapy is a form of treatment, and there are different kinds of therapies to choose from. Do not be afraid, you are not alone, the support is out there to help you fight cancer and get the treatment you deserve.
